XTR's mechanical 12-speed, for riders who want the cable

XTR M9100 is Shimano's top mechanical MTB groupset: the lightest RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifter, a SHADOW RD+ derailleur with a carbon cage option and HYPERGLIDE+ shifting on the MICRO SPLINE cassette. It is the choice for XC and marathon racers, and for anyone who prefers a cable to a battery. This kit is the drivetrain; add the crank, chainring, brakes and bottom bracket you need and leave out what you already have.

Kit includes

  • SL-M9100 RAPIDFIRE PLUS right shifter, 12-speed; choose band clamp or I-SPEC EV
  • RD-M9100 SHADOW RD+ rear derailleur; choose GS (medium cage) or SGS (long cage)
  • CS-M8100 Deore XT MICRO SPLINE cassette; choose 10-45T or 10-51T (the XTR CS-M9100 is supplied on request)
  • CN-M9100 12-speed chain, 126 links, with QUICK-LINK

Match the derailleur to the cassette

Shimano makes the RD-M9100-GS for the 10-45T cassette only and the RD-M9100-SGS for the 10-51T cassette only. Choose the pair that goes together; if you pick 10-51T, pick SGS.

  • FC-M9100-1 crankset, 165, 170 or 175 mm (no chainring)
  • SM-CRM95 direct mount chainring, 30 to 38T
  • BB-MT801 threaded (68/73 mm) or BB-MT800 press-fit (89.5/92 mm) bottom bracket
  • BR-M9200 XTR two-piston race brakes (front, rear), as J-kits
  • RT-CL800 Center Lock rotors (choose size, up to two)

Every part can be deselected if you already have it. The cassette needs a MICRO SPLINE freehub body.
