The Shimano Deore XT SM-RT86 is an Ice Technologies disc rotor built to run cooler and brake more consistently when you're working the brakes hard. Its three-layer clad construction sheds heat far better than a plain steel rotor, so you get less fade, less noise and longer pad life on long descents.

Cooler braking, less fade

Ice Technologies uses a clad rotor blade with a three-layer sandwich of stainless steel, aluminium and stainless steel. The aluminium core draws heat away from the braking surface, reducing rotor surface temperature by around 100 degrees Celsius compared with a conventional steel rotor. That means more consistent lever feel and less brake fade when the heat builds up.

Light and clean-running

The aluminium carrier (spider) trims weight to a claimed 149g for the 180mm size, while the mud-shedding blade design helps clear water and grit from the braking surface so performance stays predictable in the wet.

Compatibility & fit

This is a 180mm rotor with the standard 6-bolt (ISO) mounting pattern, so it fits any 6-bolt disc hub. It is compatible with both metal and resin brake pads. Fixing bolts and non-turn washers are included. Always confirm your frame, fork and calliper are rated for a 180mm rotor; fitting a larger rotor may require a calliper mount adapter (not included).
