The XT mechanical 1x12 drivetrain, built to your bike

Deore XT M8100 is Shimano's mechanical 12-speed trail and XC groupset: HYPERGLIDE+ shifting under load, a SHADOW RD+ clutch derailleur and the MICRO SPLINE cassette in 10-45T or 10-51T. This kit is the drivetrain; add the crank, chainring, brakes and bottom bracket you need and leave out what you already have.

Kit includes

  • SL-M8100 RAPIDFIRE PLUS right shifter, 12-speed; choose band clamp or I-SPEC EV
  • RD-M8100 SHADOW RD+ rear derailleur; choose GS (medium cage) or SGS (long cage)
  • CS-M8100 MICRO SPLINE cassette; choose 10-45T or 10-51T
  • CN-M8100 12-speed chain, 126 links, with QUICK-LINK

Match the derailleur to the cassette

Shimano makes the RD-M8100-GS for the 10-45T cassette only and the RD-M8100-SGS for the 10-51T cassette only. Choose the pair that goes together; if you pick 10-51T, pick SGS.

Options

  • FC-M8100-1 crankset, 165, 170, 175 or 180 mm (52 mm chainline, no chainring)
  • SM-CRM85 direct mount chainring, 28 to 36T
  • BB-MT801 threaded (68/73 mm) or BB-MT800 press-fit (89.5/92 mm) bottom bracket
  • BR-M8100 two-piston XC brakes (front, rear) or BR-M8120 four-piston trail brakes (front, rear), as J-kits
  • RT-CL700 or RT-CL800 Center Lock rotors (choose size, up to two)

Every part can be deselected if you already have it. The cassette needs a MICRO SPLINE freehub body. e-bike riders can leave the crank out and fit the drivetrain to the motor's own crank.
