The Tiagra Dual Control Lever takes its ergonomics from Shimano's 105 group, with a slim hood and reduced inward shift-stroke distance. The result is comfortable, secure control whether you're climbing on the hoods or descending in the drops.

Hydraulic braking that stays consistent

A sealed hydraulic system with an internal reservoir automatically compensates for pad wear, keeping pad-to-rotor clearance and lever feel consistent ride after ride. The system uses Shimano mineral oil only.

Compatibility & fit

This is the right-hand lever for 2x11-speed drivetrains. It shifts the rear derailleur and is designed to work with Shimano 11-speed rear derailleurs RD-R4000 or RD-U6040. On a standard Australian brake setup the right lever operates the front brake (the left operates the rear). It is supplied as a hydraulic Dual Control Lever for flat-mount hydraulic disc brakes and is intended to pair with the Shimano BR-RS405 flat-mount caliper. Use Shimano mineral oil only. Supplied with a hydraulic hose that can be trimmed to suit your brake routing. For a complete shifting setup, combine with the matching ST-R4020-L (left) lever.

This Shimano component is covered by Shimano's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable warranty period from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover normal wear (including brake pads and seals), damage from crashes, improper installation, incorrect bleeding or use of non-Shimano fluid, neglect, or unauthorised modification. Hydraulic systems must be set up and maintained per Shimano's instructions using Shimano mineral oil only.
