Di2 Integration & Smart Connectivity

Pair the EP801 with Shimano's Di2 electronic groupset to unlock Auto Shift — the system adjusts gearing automatically based on your cadence and speed — and Free Shift, which lets you change gears even while coasting or stopped. The motor connects via CAN and ACC ports for expanded system integration. All ride parameters are configurable through the E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app, letting you dial in each assist mode and save two separate rider profiles.

Compatibility & Fit

The EP801 drive unit is designed for frame-integrated eMTB builds and requires an EP801-compatible frame. It works only with Shimano's second-generation (Gen.2) battery management system: in-frame BT-EN805 or BT-EN805-L (504 Wh) and BT-EN806 (630 Wh) batteries in a BM-EN800 or BM-EN801 mount, or the BT-EN817-B (712 Wh) in a BM-EN810-A mount. First-generation BT-E batteries such as the BT-E8035 and BT-E8036 are not compatible. The system uses the SC-EM800 cycle computer display and EM800-L bar-mounted remote. Di2 Auto Shift and Free Shift require a compatible Shimano Di2 rear derailleur. Consult your frame manufacturer to confirm EP801 compatibility before purchase.
