Tough aluminium for drop bars
The S-500 pairs cold-forged, black anodized aluminium lever blades with a composite body and the ergonomic hood shape of SRAM's DoubleTap levers. It is the hard-wearing, value-focused sibling of the carbon S-900, giving secure braking from the hoods or the drops without the cost or complexity of a full shift-brake lever.
Dialled-in fit
Tunable reach adjust lets you bring each blade closer to the bar for confident one-finger braking, while internal cable routing runs the housing cleanly under your bar tape.
Compatibility & fit
These are mechanical (cable-actuated) brake-only levers for drop handlebars. They pair with SRAM mechanical road brake calipers (Red, Force and Rival rim brakes) and suit builds that don't need shifting, such as single-speed, fixed-gear, and bikes running bar-end or down-tube shifters. Following the Australian convention, the left lever operates the rear brake and the right lever operates the front brake.
SRAM warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for two (2) years from the date of original purchase. The warranty applies to the original owner and is not transferable, and excludes damage from crashes, misuse, improper installation or normal wear.
