Range and Charging

The BT-E8035-L delivers a real-world riding distance that can exceed 100 km in normal assist mode, depending on terrain, rider weight, and assist level. Charging is handled via Shimano's EC-E6000, EC-E6002, or EC-E8004 charger (sold separately). When connected to the EW-CP100 charging port, the SM-BTE80 charging adaptor is required. A rapid-charge curve gets you to 50% in roughly 2 hours and 80% in 2.5 hours — useful when time is tight between rides.

Construction and Protection

The battery is built to handle demanding conditions. An IPX5 waterproof rating guards the cells and electronics against rain and splashing, while the rigid frame-integrated housing adds protection against vibration and impact. The key-lock removal system means the battery can be secured to the bike when parked, or removed for indoor charging without tools.

Compatibility and Fit

The BT-E8035-L is compatible with Shimano STEPS drive units DU-E7000 and DU-E8000 (DU-E8080 included). It mounts using Shimano battery holders BM-E8030-A, BM-E8030-B, BM-E8031-A, or BM-E8031-B. The housing shares dimensions with the BT-E8036 (630Wh), so frames specced for the larger battery will also accept the BT-E8035-L.
