Integration & Design

The BT-E8036 is engineered as a fully integrated, in-tube unit — it disappears inside the down tube of compatible frames rather than sitting on the outside. The key-lock removal mechanism keeps the battery secure while still allowing quick removal for indoor charging. An error signal function communicates fault states to the STEPS system for simplified diagnostics.

Charging

Compatible with the EC-E6000, EC-E6002, and EC-E8004 chargers (SM-BTE80 adapter required). With the EC-E8004 rapid charger, the battery reaches 80% in around 3 hours and full charge in approximately 6 hours. Operating temperature during discharge is −10°C to 50°C; charging is supported from 0°C to 40°C.

Compatibility & Fit

The BT-E8036 is compatible with Shimano STEPS drive systems: EP800, E8000, E7000, E6100, E6110, E5100, and E5000. It is not compatible with EP801 or EP600 systems. Battery mount adapters BM-E8030 and BM-E8031 are supported. Frame compatibility depends on the bike manufacturer's specification — consult your frame builder or Tune Cycles if unsure.

Shimano warrants this product to the original retail purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorised modification.
