Ice-Tech Technology

Shimano's Ice-Tech system addresses the most common cause of brake fade on long technical descents — heat build-up. The H03C metal pads incorporate aluminium fins that act as a heat radiator, drawing thermal energy away from the friction interface. Combined with the ceramic pistons' natural heat resistance, the BR-M820 maintains consistent bite point and power even after repeated heavy braking.

Built for Gravity Riding

The Saint groupset is Shimano's dedicated gravity platform, developed in collaboration with downhill World Cup athletes. The BR-M820 caliper ships pre-bled and ready to install, with mineral oil already charged in the system. A one-way bleeding port simplifies caliper servicing at the trailhead or workshop.

Mount type: Post Mount (74 mm). Works front or rear. Compatible with Shimano Ice-Tech rotors (rotor sold separately). Uses Shimano mineral oil (not DOT fluid). Pair with a Shimano Saint BL-M820 brake lever for a complete system. H03C metal pad compound included.
