Comfortable, controlled braking
Shimano moved the lever's centre of rotation closer to the handlebar, giving a more comfortable interface and easier reach. Paired with strong modulation, it makes braking on heavy touring and e-trekking bikes feel measured rather than grabby.
Set up to fit your hands
A tool-free reach adjust mechanism changes the distance from the grip to the lever blade, so riders with smaller or larger hands can fine-tune the feel without carrying tools. The three-finger blade suits relaxed, upright trekking and commuting positions.
Hydraulic and tidy
This is a hydraulic lever running on Shimano mineral oil, mated to a CUES caliper via an SM-BH90-SBM hose. The I-SPEC II clamp band integrates a CUES shifter onto the lever clamp to keep the bar clean and uncluttered.
Compatibility & fit
Right-hand hydraulic lever, designed to pair with Shimano CUES BR-U8000 (2-piston) and BR-U8020 (4-piston) hydraulic disc brake calipers, using an SM-BH90-SBM hose and Shimano mineral oil. Uses an I-SPEC II clamp band for handlebar and shifter mounting. In the standard Australian setup the right lever operates the front brake (shifting is handled separately and is independent of the brake side). Sold as the lever only; caliper, hose and shifter are separate.
