Wireless & Electronic Control

The ST-R9270 supports both wired (E-Tube) and wireless shifting, giving you full flexibility in how you route cables on the build. Wireless connectivity uses Bluetooth Low Energy and requires no junction box between levers and derailleurs, resulting in a cleaner build. The E-Tube Project app (iOS and Android) lets you customise each of the three switches per lever, monitor battery status, and fine-tune shifting behaviour to match your riding style.

Hydraulic Disc Braking

Shimano Mineral Oil hydraulic fluid is used throughout the R9270 braking system. The Servo Wave cam mechanism progressively increases mechanical advantage as the lever travels inward, widening the modulation zone so you have greater feel and control before the pads bite hard. The lever is designed for use with the BR-R9270 flat mount calliper (sold separately) and the SM-BH90-JK-SSR hose kit.

Compatibility & Fit

The ST-R9270-R is the right-hand lever, controlling the rear derailleur (RD-R9250) and rear brake calliper. It is designed for 12-speed Dura-Ace R9200 Di2 road groupsets with hydraulic disc brakes. Compatible with flat mount brake callipers (BR-R9270). Uses Shimano Mineral Oil — do not use DOT fluid. Works with E-Tube wired connections or wireless to compatible Di2 components. Satellite shifter port accepts SW-RS801 / SW-RS802. Includes one SD300 port for E-Tube connectivity.
