The wired Di2 connection provides instant, reliable actuation on every shift — up or down — without the need for wireless charging or radio pairing. Battery life is long and the system remains fully active even in wet conditions where wireless signals can be marginal.

Ergonomics & Control

Shimano redesigned the hood profile for the R8100 generation, raising the peak and refining the rubber texture for a more secure, confident grip whether hands are on the hoods, in the drops or on the tops. The reach adjust mechanism lets you fine-tune lever distance from the bar to suit your hand size and riding style without any modification to the bar or tape. The E-Tube Project app lets you remap buttons, set Synchro Shift modes, and adjust electronic shift speed to personal preference.

Compatibility & Fit

Designed for 23.8–24.2 mm drop handlebars. Requires wired Di2 connection via EW-SD300 cables (sold separately). Compatible with Shimano 12-speed road Di2 front and rear derailleurs (FD-R8150, RD-R8150 and equivalents). Brakes SLR-EV short-pull rim brake callipers.
