The flat spring is what pushes the large Diamond Ratchet outwards so it meshes with the small ratchet in the freehub body. A tired or damaged spring means slow or unreliable engagement, and this is the genuine replacement.

Highlights

  • Genuine Scope part, SC2024223
  • Spring for the Diamond Ratchet engagement system
  • Shared by Artech and Race Series rear hubs
  • Also supplied inside Scope's Diamond ratchet 36T kit (SC2021261)

How it works

In a Scope rear hub, the spring sits on the axle behind the large ratchet. When the large ratchet goes back into the hub shell, you should feel the spring pushing it back outwards. That constant pressure keeps the two ratchets engaged when you pedal.

Compatibility & fit

Scope lists SC2024223 in the Artech Rear Disc Brake Hub 24H (12x142) and ATT disc hub. It also appears in every Race Series rear hub: the internal-nipple Rear Disc Brake Hub 24H (SC2025210), the RTT disc hub, the external-nipple rear disc hub (SC2021222) and the Rear Rim Brake Hub 21H (130xQR). Scope doesn't list it for Sport Series hubs. Reassemble with fresh Scope engagement grease or Silence Grease. Hub servicing and parts fitting are a separate Tune Cycles workshop service and are not included.

Covered by Scope's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. For warranty support, return the product to Tune Cycles and we'll manage the claim with the brand's Australian distributor.
