Some play off the bike is normal

Scope builds an intentional buffer into Artech hubs, so that thru-axle clamping force doesn't load the bearings. Off the bike, a small amount of axle movement is expected, and it disappears once the thru-axle is tightened to spec.

When to use the blue set

Scope says to use the blue spacer and O-ring only if play remains with the wheel mounted and the thru-axle correctly torqued. The usual cause is a frame and axle with limited clamping force. On the front, the blue O-ring replaces the black O-ring on the axle. On the rear, the blue engagement spacer replaces the bronze one. If an axle O-ring is worn or missing at service time, Scope specifies a replacement from this kit.

Compatibility & fit

For Scope Artech wheels: the Front Disc Brake Hub 18H (12x100) and the Rear Disc Brake Hub 24H (12x142), including the ATT disc hub. Race and Sport Series hubs use different parts. Hub servicing and parts fitting are a separate Tune Cycles workshop service and are not included.
