Only the right grease

Scope's manuals ask you to use only its engagement grease (SC2021263) or its Silence Grease (SC2022350) in the engagement system. Scope warns that any other grease or oil can make the engagement system malfunction, so it pays to have the correct tube on the bench.

Where it goes

Scope's service steps grease the large and small ratchets on reassembly. After new bearings go in, Scope also recommends about 1 ml of grease on the outside of each bearing, and this grease is approved for that job.

Compatibility & fit

For Scope rear hubs with the Diamond Ratchet system, which Scope fits to Artech and Race Series wheels. For a quieter freewheel, choose Scope Silence Grease (SC2022350) instead. Hub servicing is a separate Tune Cycles workshop service and is not included.
