The Scope Artech 8.T rear wheel is the back half of Scope's fastest spoked time trial and triathlon wheelset, sold on its own. An 85mm aero rim, a 3D-printed hub and Carbonlite Aerospokes give it cross-wind-stable speed with high lateral stiffness.

Scope rates the Artech 8.T the fastest and lightest aero wheelset available for time trials and triathlons. Buying the rear on its own lets you pair it with the Artech 8.T front wheel or replace a rear in an existing set. The 23mm internal hooked bed is shaped around 28mm clincher and tubeless tyres.

Scope says its Artech triathlon and time trial wheels are used by three-time Ironman champion Patrick Lange and UCI World Tour teams, which have tested them with their own wind tunnel and field protocols.

Artech rim technology

Scope shapes the Artech rim with its Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA) process, which calculates the most aerodynamic profile for the rim. A textured Aeroscales surface creates velocity streaks across the rim that stabilise the airflow and reduce drag, and Scope's Local Reinforcement lay-up adds carbon layers only around the spoke holes, saving weight without giving up strength or stiffness.

3D-printed hub and Diamond Ratchet SL

The Artech hub shell is a bone-like structure produced through topology optimisation and 3D printed from Scalmalloy. Inside, the Diamond Ratchet SL engagement is made from titanium with a diamond-like carbon coating for direct engagement, improved durability and a significant weight saving. The wheel is laced with Scope's Carbonlite Aerospokes, whose aerodynamic shape cuts drag while their high lateral stiffness sharpens acceleration and climbing.

Compatibility & fit

Built on a 12 x 142mm thru-axle hub for disc brake frames with a Centre Lock rotor (rotor not included). Choose the freehub body that matches your cassette. Scope optimises the hooked, tubeless-ready rim for 28mm tyres and states it works with clincher and tubeless tyres. Wheel set-up, tyre fitting and cassette installation are separate Tune Cycles workshop services and are not included.
