High Rigidity Construction & Spoke System
The HR designation means Shimano has stiffened the layup and spoke interface to produce 20% more lateral rigidity compared to the standard WH-R9270-C60. Twenty-four straight-pull 1.8mm bladed spokes are laced using Shimano's OPTBAL pattern, which optimises spoke tension balance for improved durability and consistent wheel tracking under hard efforts. Oversized aluminium axle internals run angular-contact loose-ball bearings with contact seals for smooth, low-drag rotation and long-term reliability.
Compatibility & Fit
The WH-R9270-C60-HR-TL front wheel is compatible with 12x100mm E-Thru thru-axle forks. Braking requires a Shimano Centre Lock disc rotor (sold separately). Recommended tyre size is 25–32mm (ETRTO 25-622 to 32-622). The wheel is designed for Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 and compatible 12-speed road groupsets. A 6.5mm Presta valve hole accommodates standard and extended valve-stem tubeless valves.
