Coil me consistent

Fewer seals mean less stiction to get the shock moving, for more small-bump sensitivity and a smooth, predictable stroke on the biggest hits. Shuttling all day or lapping the bike park until close, it stays plush and planted.

Setting it up

Marzocchi recommends 30% sag. Fine-tune with the preload adjuster, turning it no more than two full turns clockwise to reduce sag; if you can't reach 30%, you need a different spring rate. Low-speed compression controls weight shifts and G-outs, and rebound controls how fast the shock extends.

Compatibility & fit

Choose the mount and the eye-to-eye x stroke your frame is designed for: your bike maker lists both in the rear shock spec, and a trunnion shock is marked as trunnion. Mounting hardware is specific to your frame: Marzocchi suggests moving it across from your current shock or buying the correct kit. You'll also need a coil spring to suit your weight, bike travel and stroke, as the spring isn't included. Fitting is a separate workshop service. Tune Cycles is an authorised Fox service centre (Fox owns Marzocchi), so our Marrickville workshop can check your frame's size and hardware, fit the shock and set your sag.
