The second-generation Coil IL brings Cane Creek's full 4-way DB Twin Tube damping to a coil shock, in a narrower, lighter body than the first generation. It pairs with Cane Creek's linear or progressive-rate VALT springs, sold separately.

DB Twin Tube damping

Oil circulates continuously through externally adjustable valving instead of the main piston, giving independent high- and low-speed compression and rebound control without internal valving changes.

Compatibility & fit

This shock is sold without a spring — fit it with a Cane Creek VALT spring sized to your weight and riding style, and with mounting hardware to suit your frame's eyelet width (both sold separately). Cane Creek does not recommend the Coil IL for "clevis"-style suspension linkages, and it is not compatible with Specialized Stumpjumper or Turbo Levo frames. 165mm and 185mm eye-to-eye lengths use a trunnion mount; 190mm and 210mm use a standard eyelet. Match eye-to-eye length, stroke and mount type exactly to your frame's suspension design. The Tune workshop can advise on spring rate and fit the shock.
