Float X is the master of all-mountain suspension, built for aggressive trail riders who want fade-free damping on the roughest terrain. For 2027, an updated high-flow main piston brings its sensitivity, support and rear tyre grip closer to the Float X2.

Highlights

  • Monotube design with a new high-flow main piston for sensitivity, support and rear tyre grip closer to the 2026 Float X2
  • Clickable 2-position Firm mode switch for efficient climbing
  • Tool-free 11-click low-speed compression and 16-click low-speed rebound
  • Size-specific piggyback reservoir with a secondary compression circuit
  • Large EVOL LV air sleeve for fade-free performance on long descents
  • Updated MCU bottom-out bumper and a quieter top-out bumper
  • Black anodised finish and 7000-series aluminium shaft; same adjustments, damper and weight as Factory

All-terrain adaptability

The low-speed compression dial and the 2-position lever run on independent circuits, so you get the descending tunability all-mountain riding needs with the convenience of a climb switch. Both adjusters are tool-free.

Fade-free on long descents

The size-specific piggyback reservoir adds oil volume and a secondary compression circuit for better bump sensitivity and tyre grip. Paired with a large EVOL air sleeve, it stays consistent from the top of the run to the bottom.

Performance Elite

Performance Elite has the same adjustments, damper and weight as the Factory shock, with a black anodised finish and 7000-series aluminium shaft instead of Kashima.

Fitting and Fox service

Fitting isn't included: shock installation and setup is a separate workshop service. Tune Cycles is an authorised Fox service centre in Marrickville, Sydney, so we can fit your new shock, set it up for your weight and riding, and look after its servicing. Fox recommends a full service every 125 hours of riding.

Compatibility & fit

Match the eye-to-eye length and stroke your frame maker specifies, and check whether your frame takes a standard eye or a trunnion mount. Mounting hardware isn't included; it's sold separately and has to suit your frame's mounts. Fox lists the Float X as compatible with bearing mounts at both ends.

Sizes & options

Every size has the 2-position Firm switch and EVOL LV air sleeve.
