GRIP X damper

The trail-focused GRIP X damper was revised to approach the ride feel of GRIP X2 with 120g less weight, and it runs quieter. It gives 15 clicks of high-speed compression, 16 of low-speed compression and 17 of low-speed rebound, with a firm mode for efficient pedalling. The FLOAT EVOL GlideCore air spring moves with the fork under dynamic load, cutting friction and bind for smoother suspension action and less fatigue in your hands and arms.

36 SL chassis

Fox's lightest 36 at under 1800g, the 36 SL brings plushness and steering responsiveness to a true trail fork. The generatively designed arch wraps around the lowers for a 20% torsional stiffness gain over Fox's previous trail fork, the 34, and the fork has air channels, bleeders and a 4-point direct mount for Fox's optional 36/38 mud guard.

Fitting and Fox service

Fork installation is a separate workshop service and isn't included. As an authorised Fox service centre, our Marrickville workshop can fit the fork to your bike (steerer cut, crown race and star nut), set sag and damping for your weight and riding, and look after its scheduled Fox servicing from there.

Compatibility & fit

For 29in wheels with a 15 x 110mm Boost hub and a 1.5in tapered steerer. Brakes are 180mm post mount direct. Maximum tyre size is 29 x 2.6in. Fox rates the 36 SL for EN 17406 category 4 use with a maximum system weight of 140kg, and lists it as compatible with Class 1 and L1e-A e-bikes. Axle-to-crown at 140mm is 556.0mm.
