Updated for 2027, the Fox 36 Factory GRIP X balances stiffness, control and smooth travel for aggressive trail and all-mountain riding, with a lighter, trail-focused damper that now rides much like GRIP X2.

GRIP X damper
The trail-focused GRIP X damper was revised to approach the ride feel of GRIP X2 with 120g less weight, and it runs quieter. It gives 15 clicks of high-speed compression, 16 of low-speed compression and 17 of low-speed rebound, with a firm mode for efficient pedalling. The FLOAT EVOL GlideCore air spring moves with the fork under dynamic load, cutting friction and bind for smoother suspension action and less fatigue in your hands and arms.
36 chassis
The latest 36 brings big-fork energy to trail and all-mountain riding, with more steering precision and smoother travel for an enduro feel without the extra weight. Its generatively designed arch wraps around the lowers to raise torsional stiffness by 20% over the previous 36, and the fork has air channels, bleeders and a 4-point direct mount for Fox's optional 36/38 mud guard.
Fitting and Fox service
Fork installation is a separate workshop service and isn't included. As an authorised Fox service centre, our Marrickville workshop can fit the fork to your bike (steerer cut, crown race and star nut), set sag and damping for your weight and riding, and look after its scheduled Fox servicing from there.
Compatibility & fit
For 29in wheels with a 15 x 110mm Boost hub and a 1.5in tapered steerer. Brakes are 200mm post mount direct, up to 230mm rotors with the right adapter. Maximum tyre size is 29 x 2.6in. Fox rates the 36 for EN 17406 category 4 use with a maximum system weight of 140kg, and lists it as compatible with Class 1 and L1e-A e-bikes. Check your frame's allowable fork travel and axle-to-crown before choosing 150mm or 160mm.
