Favero's SPD power pedal for MTB XC, gravel and cyclocross. The Assioma PRO MX seals its electronics and rechargeable battery inside a compact, pod-less spindle, and wraps it in a 6061-T6 aluminium body built to take rock strikes.

Built for the trail

The pedal body is 6061-T6 aluminium, and the SPD-compatible clip-in mechanism is chromium-molybdenum alloy with a surface hardness of up to 800 HV. Favero rates the MX for Bike Category 3 (rough terrain and drops under 61cm) and certifies it to DIN EN ISO 4210.

Power sealed in the spindle

With no battery compartment or power port to open, water, mud and dust have no way in, and there are no battery contacts to cause dropouts. The pedal body carries no electronics, so you can replace it yourself like any regular pedal body, or swap to Favero's road bodies on the same spindle.

What it measures

Favero's IAV (Instantaneous Angular Velocity) system uses a built-in gyroscope for ±1% accuracy, even with oval chainrings. Both pedals measure, so L/R balance is measured on each side, not calculated. Over Bluetooth you get power, cadence and L/R balance; over ANT+ or the Favero Assioma app you also get dual-sided PCO (Platform Centre Offset), power phase, pedal smoothness and torque effectiveness, plus rider position over ANT+.

Battery

A rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives up to 160 hours per charge, and Favero quotes 15 hours of riding from a 15-minute charge. Magnetic charging lets you charge both pedals at once.

Compatibility & fit

Compatible with the supplied Favero SPD cleats (773-00-62) and Shimano SM-SH51, SM-SH56 and CL-MT001 cleats. Pedal stack height 11.2mm; with a 6.0mm Shimano cleat, total stack is 17.2mm. For MTB XC, CX and gravel. Installs like a regular pedal on any crank arm, with round or oval chainrings and crank boots, and auto-calibrates. Connects over ANT+ and Bluetooth to bike computers, watches and apps. Power-meter pedal fitting and pairing with your head unit is available from our workshop as a separate service, not included in the price.
