SUNringlé MTX 39 Hope Pro 5 SS hand-built dirt jump wheelset

The premium build of our dirt jump wheelset: wide, welded SUNringlé MTX 39 rims laced 32-spoke to a Hope Pro 5 front and Hope's Pro 5 Trials/Singlespeed rear, with 108 points of engagement for instant pick-up off the lip. Built by hand in our Marrickville workshop.

Before you order: what your bike decides

  • Wheel size: 26in.
  • Fork: 15 x 100 mm thru-axle.
  • Frame: choose the rear hub's axle on the card: 135 mm with 10 mm bolt-up dropouts (the dirt jump standard), 12 x 142, or 12 x 148 Boost.
  • Brakes: both hubs take a 6-bolt rotor.
  • Drivetrain: singlespeed. The rear hub uses Hope's splined SS/T singlespeed driver; the cog and spacers are not included, so tell us your cog or ask us to supply one.
  • Colour: pick each hub's colour on its card. The rims are black.

Kit includes

Options: rear axle 135 x 10 bolt-up (142 x 12 or 148 x 12) · hub colour, front and rear (black, silver, red, blue, purple or orange). Hope colours come and go; the card marks any that are out of stock.

Everything in the Wheelset box is built in. If you want us to lace a rim or hub you already own, that is a workshop job: contact us for a quote.

Why the Pro 5 SS

Hope's Trials/Singlespeed rear uses an offset four-pawl freehub for 108 points of engagement, so the drive picks up almost instantly when you pedal into a jump line, and its splined singlespeed driver keeps the chainline clean.

How we build it

Every wheel is laced by hand in Marrickville with DT Swiss Competition double-butted spokes (2.0/1.8/2.0 mm) and DT brass nipples, brought up to even tension, stress-relieved and trued, then checked again before it is packed. Each wheelset is built to order. Our Pro wheel build and tape are added to your cart automatically as two free lines. The build carries our workmanship guarantee; each maker's warranty on its parts is on the Warranty tab.

Sold separately (shown with this kit): 160 mm 6-bolt rotors, a singlespeed cog and spacers, tyres and tubes or tubeless set-up.

Hope hubs are covered by Hope's manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects, handled through the Australian distributor. SUNringlé rims carry SUNringlé's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Our build (lacing, tension and truing) carries our workmanship guarantee. Any claim comes back to Tune Cycles: bring the wheel to Marrickville or contact us with your order number and we handle it with the brand. Wear, crash damage, corrosion and incorrect fitting are not covered.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
