SUNringlé Duroc 30 J-Unit Hope Pro 5 hand-built kids wheelset, 24in

The premium build of our 24in kids' wheelset: SUNringlé's junior Duroc 30 J-Unit rims laced 32-spoke to Hope Pro 5 hubs, built by hand in our Marrickville workshop, for a thru-axle kids' bike that is ridden hard and handed down.

Before you order: what your bike decides

  • Wheel size: 24in. Read it off the tyre sidewall.
  • Fork: 15 x 100 mm thru-axle. Hope makes conversion kits for this front hub (quick release, 9, 12 and 20 mm): ask us if your fork is not 15 x 100.
  • Frame: 12 x 142 mm thru-axle. A 135 mm quick-release frame takes our Novatec 24in kids wheelset instead.
  • Brakes: disc only; the front hub takes a 6-bolt rotor; pick the rear's mount on its card (6-bolt or Centre Lock).
  • Cassette: pick the rear's freehub body on its card: Shimano HG (8- to 12-speed HG cassettes), Shimano Micro Spline, or SRAM XD (SRAM XDR on the Centre Lock rear).

Kit includes

Options: rear rotor mount (6-bolt or Centre Lock) · freehub body · hub colour, front and rear. Hope colours come and go; the card marks any that are out of stock. · tubeless valves (50 mm, up to 2).

Everything in the Wheelset box is built in. The rows under Upgrades are optional: tick what you want and the price updates. If you want us to lace a rim or hub you already own, that is a workshop job: contact us for a quote.

Why Hope Pro 5

The Pro 5 runs a six-pawl freehub with three pawls engaged at a time for 108 points of engagement, so the drive picks up almost the moment the pedals turn, and it comes in Hope's colours to match the bike.

How we build it

Every wheel is laced by hand in Marrickville with DT Swiss Competition double-butted spokes (2.0/1.8/2.0 mm) and DT brass nipples, brought up to even tension, stress-relieved and trued, then checked again before it is packed. Each wheelset is built to order. Our Pro wheel build and tape are added to your cart automatically as two free lines. The build carries our workmanship guarantee; each maker's warranty on its parts is on the Warranty tab.

The rims are tubeless-ready: add our 50 mm tubeless valves below and sealant for a lighter, lower-pressure set-up.

Sold separately (shown with this kit): tubeless sealant, 160 mm rotors to suit your mount, a cassette for your freehub and tyres to suit.

Hope hubs are covered by Hope's manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects, handled through the Australian distributor. SUNringlé rims carry SUNringlé's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Our build (lacing, tension and truing) carries our workmanship guarantee. Any claim comes back to Tune Cycles: bring the wheel to Marrickville or contact us with your order number and we handle it with the brand. Wear, crash damage, corrosion and incorrect fitting are not covered.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
