Rim & Spoke Construction
The WH-RS500's 24mm rim depth strikes the ideal balance between aerodynamic efficiency and low weight, making it quick to accelerate out of corners and responsive on climbs. The hooked bead profile supports both clincher and tubeless tyres in 700c sizes from 23mm to 32mm wide. Straight-pull spokes reduce spoke fatigue and keep the rim true over longer periods between truing sessions.
Hub & Bearing System
The machined anodised aluminium hub uses Shimano's proven cup-and-cone bearing system, which allows bearing preload to be adjusted at home with standard cone spanners. The Digital Adjustment System makes it straightforward to eliminate any bearing play by rotating the adjustment ring — no specialist workshop equipment required.
