The motor's control logic is designed to account for the coaster mechanism, ensuring reliable braking response. A drive cover (SM-DUE60, sold separately) is required for installation.
Walk Assist & Connectivity
Walk assist mode provides controlled low-speed motor support when you need to push the bike — ideal for steep ramps or busy pedestrian areas. The included speed sensor and magnet complete the installation kit. The DU-E6010 integrates into the broader Shimano STEPS E6000 ecosystem, compatible with E6000 series displays, batteries, and accessories.
Compatibility & Fit
The DU-E6010 is intended for e-bike frames designed around the Shimano STEPS E6000 drive unit with a coaster brake rear wheel. It operates on a 36V STEPS battery (BT-E6000 series or compatible). The drive cover SM-DUE60 is required for a complete installation and is sold separately. Not compatible with disc brake, V-brake, or roller brake variants (those require DU-E6001 or DU-E6002). Consult a qualified e-bike workshop for compatibility before purchase.
