Integrated Design
The BT-E8035 is built to sit flush inside the down tube, protected by an outer cover that shields the battery from trail debris and water. A key-lock mechanism secures the battery in the frame, and the on/off switch is positioned on the top tube for easy reach while riding. The integrated form factor contributes to a lower centre of gravity and more natural ride feel compared to external battery solutions.
Long-Life Cells
Shimano's STEPS lithium-ion cells are rated for 1,000 charge cycles while retaining a minimum of 60% of original capacity — built to last the life of the bike. Charging to 80% takes approximately 2.5 hours; a full charge is reached in around 4–5 hours using a compatible charger (EC-E6000, EC-E6002, or EC-E8004).

The BT-E8035 is designed exclusively for frames with Shimano STEPS integrated down tube battery mounts. Compatible with the E8000 and E7000 STEPS system components, including the EP8, E8000, and E7000 drive units. Requires a compatible battery mount (BM-E8030-A, BM-E8030-B, BM-E8031-A, or BM-E8031-B). Shimano warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years from the date of original retail purchase. The battery capacity is guaranteed to retain at least 60% of its original capacity after 1,000 charge cycles.
