Ergonomics & Control
The ST-RX810 hood profile features a pronounced slope that keeps wrists in a neutral position when riding in the forward grip. The brake lever blade uses an anti-slip textured surface to maintain positive contact even in wet or muddy conditions. The lever pivot axis sits 18mm higher than standard road levers, improving braking leverage and modulation feel on gravel descents.
Hydraulic Braking System
The BR-RX810 flat mount caliper uses Shimano's SERVOWAVE technology, which progressively increases braking power as the lever is pulled, reducing hand fatigue on long descents. ICE Technology with ceramic-coated pistons and cooling fin brake pads dissipates heat effectively when braking repeatedly at speed. The system uses Shimano Mineral Oil and arrives pre-bled with hose and L03A resin pads fitted. The One-Way Bleed port simplifies servicing without opening the caliper.
Compatibility & Fit
This is the right-hand lever; in Australian setup, the right lever controls the front brake, and this unit is paired with the BR-RX810 front disc caliper accordingly. The ST-RX810 is compatible with all Shimano 11-speed road rear derailleurs, including GRX, Ultegra, and 105. The caliper uses a flat mount interface and accepts 140mm or 160mm rotors (rotor not included). Clamp band diameter is 23.8–24.2mm. Compatible brake pads: L05A-RF Resin, K05S-RX Resin, K04S-MX Metal, L04C-MF Metal.
