Hollowtech II & Carbon Chainring

Shimano's Hollowtech II construction hollow-forms the crank arms from the inside out, eliminating unnecessary material while maintaining the torsional rigidity needed to translate every watt cleanly into the drivetrain. The large chainring incorporates a carbon element — an approach refined over multiple generations of Dura-Ace — keeping rotational mass as low as possible where it matters most. The result is a crankset that weighs as little as 685g (170mm, 50/34T configuration) without compromise to durability.

Geometry & Shifting Precision

The asymmetric 4-arm spider uses a 110mm bolt circle diameter and delivers a 44.5mm chainline with a 148mm Q-factor, matching the geometry of the wider R9200 groupset for precise chain tracking across all 12 sprockets. The chainring tooth profile is engineered specifically for Dura-Ace Di2's electronic front shifting, enabling near-instant, near-silent transitions under load — a measurable advantage over mechanical actuation.

Compatibility & Fit

The FC-R9200 is designed for 12-speed Dura-Ace Di2 drivetrains and is compatible with the FD-R9250 front derailleur, ST-R9270 (disc) and ST-R9250 (rim) Di2 levers, and Shimano 12-speed chains (CN-M9100 and compatible). Bottom bracket shell width: 68mm threaded or 70mm (BB-R9100 threaded or SM-BB92-41B pressfit). Available chainring combinations: 50/34T, 52/36T, and 54/40T. Crank arm lengths: 160mm, 165mm, 167.5mm, 170mm, 172.5mm, 175mm, and 177.5mm.
