Di2 Integration & Shifting

The ST-R9170 right lever controls rear derailleur shifting via Shimano's Di2 electronic system, with three buttons per lever (including a hidden top-of-hood button configurable via E-Tube). Two SD50 e-Tube ports on each lever allow direct wiring to the junction box or other Di2 components. Note: satellite sprint shifters SW-R610 are not compatible — use SW-R9150 if satellite shifting is required.

Hydraulic Braking Performance

The BR-R9170 front caliper uses a twin-piston design mounted via Shimano's Flat Mount standard. Mineral oil hydraulics deliver a progressive, consistent brake feel across all conditions, and the caliper's chamfered pad design provides wide clearance to minimise rub.
