Wireless Di2 Performance

The RD-M8250-SGS rear derailleur uses Shimano's Di2 electronic actuation to deliver precise shifts under load — even mid-climb. The wireless architecture eliminates junction boxes and shift cables entirely, reducing both weight and ongoing maintenance. The SW-M8250IR shifter features short-stroke paddles with multi-axis adjustability and supports two-step double-shift and hold-down multi-shift modes, giving riders full command of all 12 speeds.

Built for Trail Abuse

The derailleur body is constructed with a wide-link reinforced structure, 13-tooth sealed-bearing pulley wheels, and a covered cage that shields against debris ingestion. A skid-plate provides knuckle protection, and a wedge-shaped profile deflects impacts away from the mechanism. Automatic Impact Recovery instantly resets the derailleur position if it takes a hit, so you can keep riding without manual adjustment.

Battery & Power

The BT-DN320 battery (305 mAh, 7.6V lithium-ion) sits enclosed inside the derailleur body, fully protected from mud and water. It's removable for charging via the included EC-DN100 charger using USB-C, with a full charge taking approximately 90 minutes. Battery status is visible in the E-TUBE PROJECT app. Firmware updates for the derailleur and shifter are also managed through the app.

Compatibility & Fit

Compatible with Shimano 12-speed MTB drivetrains. The SGS long cage is optimised for cassettes with a largest sprocket up to 51T (10–51T range supported). The SW-M8250IR shifter mounts via I-Spec EV standard, integrating directly onto compatible Shimano brake lever clamps — no separate bar clamp required. Compatible with Shimano 12-speed HG chains and Shimano 12-speed HG cassettes within the supported range.
