Trail-Tuned Braking

Shimano's Deore XT M8100 generation was designed from the ground up for trail and enduro riding. The BR-M8120 caliper builds on the XTR M9100 architecture, bringing race-proven 4-piston technology into the XT tier. The result is 10% more braking power than the previous M8000 generation, with improved heat management through ICE Technologies compound pads and a three-layer clad rotor structure (sold separately). The BL-M8100 lever's servo-wave mechanism ensures the brake engages quickly and progressively — no dead zone, no sudden lock-up — giving you precise speed control across loose, rooty, and wet conditions.

Compatibility & Fit

This is a complete rear brake J-Kit set including the BR-M8120 post mount caliper, BL-M8100 left lever (rear brake, Australian setup), 1700mm SM-BH90-SBM hydraulic hose, and finned metal pads. The BR-M8120 caliper uses post mount attachment; flat mount adapters are sold separately if required. Compatible with Shimano Centre Lock and 6-bolt rotors in 140mm, 160mm, 180mm, and 203mm diameters (rotor and adapter sold separately). Lever clamp is I-SPEC EV compatible; also available with standard clamp band. Use Shimano mineral oil only — DOT fluid will damage the seals.
