Construction

The WH-MT601 rim is built from aluminium with a 25mm internal width — wide enough to support modern 2.3"–2.6" trail tyres without folding at the bead. Spokes are double-butted and laced in a J-bend pattern to the Centre Lock hub shell, balancing ride compliance with the lateral stiffness needed for powerful disc braking. The hub shell is machined to accept the Micro Spline freehub body, making this wheel fully compatible with Shimano's current 12-speed MTB drivetrain ecosystem.
