The Side Swing layout repositions the cable approach so shift force is reduced and the cage clears wider tyres. The result is smooth, positive movement between the two chainrings across a typical 36-22T or 40-26T setup.

FD-U4000 sits in Shimano's CUES tier, which unifies 9-, 10- and 11-speed components under the LINKGLIDE system for long service life and broad parts compatibility. Pair it with a CUES front shifter and a LINKGLIDE or compatible HG chain for the intended performance.

For 2x (double) cranksets running 9- or 10-speed CUES rear drivetrains. Choose the mount to suit your frame: direct mount, E-type, low clamp or mid clamp. Maximum large chainring 40T with a 14T total capacity; the FD-U4010 low-clamp version takes a 46T large ring. Designed for 48.8-51.8mm chainlines and 64-69 degree chainstay angles. Use with Shimano CUES front shifters (e.g. SL-U8000/U6000/U4000) and compatible chains (CN-LG500 or HG-series 11-speed).
