Electronic Shifting

Di2 electronic actuation requires only a 2mm button press to execute a crisp, accurate shift every time. Lever hood buttons are fully configurable via the Shimano E-Tube app (iOS, Android, PC) — assign shifting, Garmin screen control, or light activation to the programmable ST button. Firmware updates are also managed through E-Tube, keeping the system current over its lifetime.

Synchro Shift

Full Synchro Shift automatically moves the front derailleur as you progress through the cassette, eliminating the need for manual front shifts. Semi-Synchro Shift adjusts the rear derailleur automatically when you change chainrings for seamless transitions. Di2 software also prevents cross-chaining at the extremes for drivetrain protection.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes

The BR-R8070 flat-mount calipers use the same IceTech cooling technology as Dura-Ace rotors, dissipating heat efficiently on long descents. The mineral-oil hydraulic system delivers strong, modulated braking with consistent lever feel. Hoses arrive pre-bled with Shimano's easy-joint system for simplified installation. Compatible with 140mm and 160mm rotors (not included in base kit).

Compatibility & Fit

Designed for 2×11-speed road drivetrains. The FD-R8050 front derailleur requires a braze-on frame mount (a 35mm clamp adapter is available separately). Flat-mount disc brake frame and fork required for the BR-R8070 calipers. Compatible with Shimano 11-speed road cassettes (HG freehub). Lever reach adjustable up to 10mm to suit a wide range of hand sizes. Consult your mechanic for Di2 wire routing requirements specific to your frame.
