Design & Construction

The ST-R2000 levers are built from a combination of aluminium, glass-fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP), and steel — a material mix that keeps weight low while maintaining the structural rigidity needed for consistent, predictable shifting over time. Cable routing is semi-internal through the lever body, contributing to a tidy handlebar setup.

Compatibility & Fit

Designed for 2×8-speed road drivetrains. Compatible with Shimano Claris R2000 and HG-compatible 8-speed components including FC-R2000 cranksets, FD-R2000 front derailleurs, RD-R2000 rear derailleurs, and CS-HG50/HG51 8-speed cassettes. Brake levers use short-pull (Super SLR) actuation — compatible with Shimano road brake callipers (not hydraulic). Not compatible with 9, 10, 11, or 12-speed drivetrains.
