Design & Ergonomics

The ST-R7025 is the compact-reach variant of the Shimano 105 R7000 Dual Control Lever, developed to give riders with smaller hands genuine control at the brake lever without the hand-repositioning compromises of a standard-reach lever. The revised STI unit is angled closer to the handlebar and positioned slightly outboard, so fingers reach the lever blade naturally from the hood position. Combined with the 15 mm reach adjustment range, fit can be dialled in precisely for a wide range of hand geometries.

Shifting Performance

Inside the lever body, a fundamentally revised shift mechanism delivers quicker, lighter gear changes relative to previous-generation 105. The reduced lever throw — 24% shorter on the upshift and 8.6% shorter on the downshift — means less hand movement between braking and shifting, keeping control smooth and intuitive during spirited riding or technical descents.
