The Shamal name returns as a versatile carbon disc wheelset, with a Dual Profile rim developed in the wind tunnel for stability in crosswinds and comfort over long days.

Dual Profile rim

The carbon rim uses a modular profile, perfected in the wind tunnel and on the road, with a unidirectional C-LUX finish. Paired with hubs with differentiated flanges, it allows shorter spokes for more rigidity without giving up comfort. The hooked C23 rim suits tyres of 28 mm and wider, and the rim bed has no nipple holes, so 2-Way Fit runs tubeless without sealing tape.

Hubs and build

Single-piece black aluminium hubs run cup-and-cone bearings (15/28 mm front, 17/30 mm rear) for easy maintenance, on 12 mm aluminium thru-axles. 21 aero-elliptical steel spokes front and rear are laced in Campagnolo's G3 pattern. Each wheel is hand-assembled by a Campagnolo technician and checked electronically. At 1480 g the set is over 100 g lighter than the previous Shamal.

In the box

50 mm tubeless valve, valve reducer bushing, two composite tyre levers, user manual, accessories bag, N3W adapter kit for 11-12-speed cassettes (N3W version). Tubeless set-up and cassette and rotor fitting are separate workshop services at Tune Cycles.

Compatibility & fit

Disc brake only, for 12 mm thru-axle frames and forks with 100 mm front and 142 mm rear spacing. The N3W freehub body takes Campagnolo 13-speed cassettes directly. N3W versions come with Campagnolo's N3W adapter, and Campagnolo's N3W compatibility table sets out what's needed to run 11- and 12-speed Campagnolo cassettes.
