The EXAR DB405 UltraDark takes Magene's carbon-spoked Ultra platform and finishes it in a dark black look that suits almost any frame, with a 40mm front and 45mm rear rim for fast, stable riding.

Lower front, higher rear
A shallower front rim keeps handling predictable in crosswinds, while the deeper rear rim adds aero benefit where it is least affected by wind.
Carbon spokes, stiff hubs
HI-MOD carbon spokes in a 2:1 balanced lacing pattern run at 130kgf ±10% drive side and 110kgf ±10% non-drive side on the rear. The hubs use standard bearings and a 36-tooth flat ratchet, which can be swapped for Magene's 54T ratchet.
Built for wider tyres
The 30mm external and 23mm internal rim width suits 28-32c tyres, creating a smooth tyre-to-rim transition for aerodynamics and comfort.
Compatibility & fit
Disc brake only, for 100mm front and 142mm rear thru-axles. Supplied with a Shimano HG 11-speed freehub; Campagnolo N3W and SRAM XDR freehub bodies are sold separately. Hooked rim, compatible with tubeless and clincher tyres from 25c (28-32c suggested). Maximum system weight (rider plus bike) is 110kg. Wheel set-up, tyre fitting and tubeless set-up are available from our workshop as a separate service, not included in the price.
Magene covers power meters and EXAR wheelsets with a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects, from the date of purchase. For warranty support, return the product to Tune Cycles and we'll manage the claim with Magene's Australian distributor.
