D2 Aero Carbon Construction
The C60's D2 rim profile has been wind-tunnel optimised to reduce drag across a 0–15 degree yaw range — the conditions most commonly encountered during road racing. The wide 28 mm external rim width pairs aerodynamically with 26–30 mm tyres, reducing the "lightbulb" effect for cleaner airflow. The all-carbon layup keeps weight low while the HR construction ensures the rim doesn't flex under hard sprinting loads.
Redesigned Hub & Spoke System
The completely redesigned Dura-Ace R9200 hub features a Direct Engagement aluminium freehub body that saves 45 g over the prior unit while increasing drivetrain engagement rigidity by 63% versus the C40-TL. Cup-and-cone bearings with stainless steel races run on oversized, anodised aluminium axles sealed with contact seals for long service life. The front and rear OPTBAL 2:1 spoke lacing distributes load evenly across the drive and non-drive sides, balancing tension for long-term wheel durability.
Compatibility & Fit
Designed for Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 and Ultegra R8100 disc brake road groupsets. Requires 12-speed Shimano HG road cassette. Centre Lock disc rotor required (not included). Front axle: 12×100 mm thru-axle. Rear axle: 12×142 mm thru-axle. Tyre compatibility: 700×25–32 mm (tubeless or clincher). Not compatible with rim brake frames, quick-release axles, or 11-speed cassettes.
Shimano Dura-Ace wheels are covered by a 3-year warranty from the date of original purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies to the original owner only and does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from improper installation, or use outside of Shimano's recommended applications.
