The Hellion Clip BOA swaps laces for the PerformFit Wrap from the BOA Fit System, so you can micro-adjust the fit on the fly for better power transfer and a precise hold. Underneath it's a Hellion: ClipGrip rubber, a 40 mm long cleat box and an RC PowerDrive nylon shank for clip pedals, a stable moulded EVA midsole and a light, breathable Cordura mesh upper.

Dial-in fit

Instead of traditional laces, the PerformFit Wrap from the BOA Fit System uses a Li2 dial that adjusts in both directions in small steps and runs low-friction textile laces. It spreads pressure across the top of your foot and lets you fine-tune the fit on the fly for better power transfer. A BOA dial shield bayonet adds durability, and integrated D3O pads protect the top of your foot.

Built for clip pedals

ClipGrip is the rubber Ride Concepts uses on its clip shoes, tuned so nothing gets in the way when you clip in and out, while staying supportive and grippy when you're hiking. The 40 mm long cleat box has index markings and an extended cleat pocket runway, so you can set your cleat position precisely and repeat it, and the RC PowerDrive nylon shank keeps the platform laterally stiff to drive power. A reverse hex relief at the toe and heel gives you traction on hike-a-bike climbs and descents.

Comfort and protection

The moulded EVA midsole gives a stable, efficient pedalling platform with support and shock absorption, and the D3O High Impact Zone insole soaks up hits to reduce fatigue. A TPU mud guard shields against dirt, debris and rubbing, the asymmetrical collar adds protection on the inside of the ankle, and an anti-bacterial mesh lining helps control odour.

Compatibility & fit

Made for clip pedals. Ride Concepts designs the cleat box on its clip shoes to work with mountain bike clip pedals.

Sizes are US men's. Ride Concepts builds its shoes around US sizing and says they run true to size for an athletic fit: order the same US size as your usual athletic shoes, and if you're between two sizes, go up to the larger one. The EU, UK and centimetre equivalents in the table below come from Ride Concepts' shoe size chart.

The fully gusseted tongue keeps the fit snug and stops the tongue shifting.
