The Hellion BOA swaps laces for the PerformFit Wrap from the BOA Fit System, so you can micro-adjust the fit on the fly for better power transfer and a precise hold. Underneath it's a Hellion: MaxGrip rubber for flat pedals, a stable moulded EVA midsole and a light, breathable Cordura mesh upper.

Dial-in fit

Instead of traditional laces, the PerformFit Wrap from the BOA Fit System uses a Li2 dial that adjusts in both directions in small steps and runs low-friction textile laces. It spreads pressure across the top of your foot and lets you fine-tune the fit on the fly for better power transfer. A BOA dial shield bayonet adds durability, and integrated D3O pads protect the top of your foot.

Grip on flat pedals

Ride Concepts' hexagon-pattern outsoles use deep lugs so pedal pins can bite, and MaxGrip is the brand's softest, tackiest compound, chosen for pedal contact and feel while still wearing well. A reverse hex relief at the toe and heel gives you traction off the bike, whether you're pushing up a climb or walking down something steep.

Comfort and protection

The moulded EVA midsole gives a stable, efficient pedalling platform with support and shock absorption, and the D3O High Impact Zone insole soaks up hits to reduce fatigue. A TPU mud guard shields against dirt, debris and rubbing, the asymmetrical collar adds protection on the inside of the ankle, and an anti-bacterial mesh lining helps control odour.

Designed for flat pedals.

Sizes are US men's. Ride Concepts builds its shoes around US sizing and says they run true to size for an athletic fit: order the same US size as your usual athletic shoes, and if you're between two sizes, go up to the larger one. The EU, UK and centimetre equivalents in the table below come from Ride Concepts' shoe size chart.

The fully gusseted tongue keeps the fit snug and stops the tongue shifting.
