A steel 1× ring for riders who wear through alloy rings. Praxis forges the DM1X Steel from case-hardened, high-grade steel for durability and a longer life, with a narrow-wide tooth profile that bolts straight onto 3-bolt direct mount MTB cranks.

Steel for longer wear
Steel is heavier than alloy (the 32T weighs about 155 g, against 66 g for Praxis's alloy DM1X in the same size), but Praxis makes it for durability and longevity. Choose it if you'd rather carry a little more weight for a longer-wearing ring.
Choosing the offset
Chainline depends on both the ring offset and the crank it's fitted to. On Praxis's Gen 2 direct mount MTB cranks, the 3 mm offset gives a 52 mm (Boost) chainline and the 0 mm offset gives 55 mm. On older Gen 1 Praxis MTB cranks, 3 mm gives 49 mm (non-Boost) and 0 mm gives 52 mm (Boost). On another brand's direct mount crank, check the chainline with us before you order.

Compatibility & fit
Fits MTB cranks with the 3-bolt direct mount interface, including all Praxis direct mount MTB cranks. 1× only: Praxis requires a clutch rear derailleur (such as Shimano Shadow or SRAM Type 2) and recommends an upper chain guide in rough terrain. Works with Shimano mechanical and Di2, and SRAM mechanical and wireless, 10, 11 and 12-speed. Praxis's ring guide specifies T25 Torx bolts at 9 Nm onto a clean, greased interface. The Tune workshop can fit it as a separate workshop service.
Praxis warrants its components to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years from the original purchase date, for the original owner with proof of purchase. Normal wear and tear isn't covered, and for chainrings Praxis lists tooth wear and the finish wearing off as wear. Damage from crashes, impact, incorrect installation (including using the wrong tools) or modification is also excluded.
