Premium Fuel 90 is Infinit Nutrition's high-carbohydrate drink mix for long rides and races. It blends glucose and fructose so you can take in more carbohydrate each hour than a single-source mix allows, with electrolytes and a mild flavour that stays easy to drink.

Highlights

• 90 g of carbohydrate per serve
• Four carbohydrate sources: maltodextrin, glucose, fructose and sucrose
• 2:1 glucose-to-fructose ratio
• 500 mg of electrolytes and 360 calories per serve
• Mild flavour to avoid flavour fatigue
• Developed with Accredited Sports Dietitian and ultra-endurance runner Stephanie Gaskell

Why glucose and fructose

Infinit explains that fructose is digested by a different pathway in the gut from glucose, so adding it raises how much carbohydrate your gut can process. It quotes nearly 50% more carbohydrate absorbed than with a single-source approach, and up to 120 g per hour across the Premium Fuel range, against the 60 g per hour it says most sports nutrition products allow.

Who the 90 g blend suits

Infinit's rough guide pitches the 90 g blend at athletes racing long distances, such as long-course triathlon and 24-hour mountain bike events, and at larger athletes of around 70 kg and up. Follow the mixing directions on the pack.
