Why the hooked bead matters

While many carbon gravel wheels have gone hookless, DT Swiss built the GRC 1100 with a traditional hooked rim. This opens compatibility to the full range of tyre pressures and tyre models — no restrictions on older tyre constructions or higher-pressure setups.

Hub and engagement

The 180 DICUT is DT Swiss's lightest production hub, running SINC ceramic bearings for reduced rolling resistance. The 36-tooth Ratchet EXP system engages at 10° — immediate power transfer whether you're sprinting on gravel or clipping back in on a technical climb. The freehub body is upgradeable to the 54T version for 6.7° engagement.

Compatibility

Front wheel: 12×100mm Centre-Lock disc. Fits 700C tyres; optimised for 30–40mm width. Available rear options: Shimano HG (11-speed road), Shimano Micro Spline (12-speed), SRAM XDR (12-speed road), Campagnolo N3W.
