The Upturn lifts your hands well above a typical trail bar, sitting you more upright for better vision and easier handling on technical ground. This version has 40mm of rise on a 31.8mm clamp, at 785mm wide.

Who it suits

Anyone who wants the front end higher than a normal bar allows. A typical trail bar rises 15 to 30mm; the Upturn family runs 40, 55 and 75mm. The extra height takes weight off your hands and back, keeps your chest open on steep descents and suits frames with a low stack or a slammed fork. It is also a cleaner way up than a tall spacer stack, which pushes the bar away from you as well as up. It suits AM, enduro and trail riding.

Before you fit it

More rise means every cable and hose has further to travel. Turn the bars to full lock each way and compress the fork, and if a brake hose pulls tight you will need a longer hose and a bleed. The bar is alloy and can be cut down: take the same amount off each end, measured from the centre, and ride it full width first. Tighten the stem faceplate to the torque on your stem, a little at a time in a criss-cross pattern.
