The HL1 Wide is KMC's half-link single-speed chain, built so you can fine-tune your chain length in half-link increments instead of whole links.

On a horizontal-dropout or vertical-dropout singlespeed frame, a whole-link chain often can't sit at the ideal tension — a half-link chain closes that gap, letting you get the wheel positioned right without relying on a tensioner.

Fits 1/8" single-speed and BMX drivetrains. Not for use on derailleur (multi-speed) drivetrains.
