A flat pedal sized for smaller feet. The Taipan S scales FUNN's composite Taipan down to a 95 x 80mm platform with a narrow 52mm Q factor, making it a natural fit for teenagers, junior racers and adults with smaller feet. At 325g a pair it is the lightest pedal FUNN makes.

Pins that forgive

Each side carries four pins moulded into the body and six replaceable alloy pins. The replaceable pins have rounded tips on purpose, so a slipped pedal is more likely to bruise a shin than cut it. Spares are FUNN's Taipan and Taipan S pin kit, which fits both models; the pins are M3 and secured with a nut.

Who it suits

The narrower stance sets the feet closer together, which suits smaller riders. Check the crank first: the Taipan S uses the same thread as FUNN's full-size pedals, so it fits any crank that takes a standard adult MTB pedal, but one-piece cranks on the smallest kids' bikes use a narrower thread and will not accept it. Remember the left pedal is reverse-threaded.

Chamfered edges reduce accidental contact with rocks and roots. Our workshop can fit your pedals as a separate service.
