The 40 is the dual-crown downhill fork Fox's World Cup athletes race. The 2027 Fox 40 Factory adds the GlideCore air spring and a revised GRIP X2 damper.

GRIP X2 and GlideCore

GRIP X2 is Fox's most adjustable descent-focused damper, with 8 clicks of high-speed compression, 18 of low-speed compression, 8 of high-speed rebound and 16 of low-speed rebound. It holds the fork higher in its travel and keeps the tyre tracking the ground for more cornering traction, with less rider fatigue. The GlideCore air spring moves with the fork under dynamic load, reducing friction and breakaway force so there's less fatigue in your hands and arms.

40 chassis

The generatively designed arch keeps the 40's steering responsiveness, and relocated bypass channels on the lowers add smoothness and sensitivity at high speed. A floating 20 x 110mm Boost axle, bleeders and air channels round out the chassis.

Fitting and Fox service

Fork installation is a separate workshop service and isn't included. As an authorised Fox service centre, our Marrickville workshop can fit the fork to your bike (steerer cut, crown race and star nut), set sag and damping for your weight and riding, and look after its scheduled Fox servicing from there.

Compatibility & fit

For 29in downhill bikes with a 1.125in straight steerer and a 20 x 110mm Boost front hub. Offset is 52mm. Brakes are 200mm post mount direct, up to 230mm rotors with the right adapter. Fox's optional 40 mud guard fits on a 4-point direct mount. Check that your frame is designed for a 203mm downhill fork before you order.
